“For Catherine Connor and Barbara Freeman, the thrill of the hunt is almost as exciting as running their Geneva, Illinois shop in unison. Opened in 2010, 610 Home is a treasure trove of delights, a mix of vintage and new furniture and accessories with labels like Barbara Cosgrove Lamps, Bernhardt Interiors and Regina Andrews as standouts. Steeped in variety, abundance and history—antique pieces are researched and revamped accordingly—the stores’ main attraction is the owners’ varying points of view. With a menagerie of handpicked goodies sourced from flea markets, auctions and estates sales, the locale is ultimately a one-stop shop of originals. ‘Clients have embraced our concept of mixing old and new and that’s exciting,’ says Connor. One-of-a-kind pieces include a vintage faux-shagreen midcentury desk and a Kittinger chest from the 1950s. ‘It’s these combinations that make for a truly sensational home,’ Freeman says.”

“SUBURBAN CHIC: Designer Julie Smith has fallen hard for interior shop 610 HOME, a recent addition to Geneva’s growing design community, which houses both vintage and new accessories and furniture.”

“Many of Geneva’s stellar home stores have a traditional bent, but this newcomer takes a more citified approach to decorating that favors neutral colors and mixing styles. 610 Home stocks regency chairs, midcentury desks, vintage chairs recovered in unusual fabrics, and a new line of reclaimed wood furniture with a French aesthetic. Designers have gone gaga for this place.”
